Without a pandemic, the Cathedral would be filled with joyful music, prayers and decorations.
Behind the scenes of our broadcasts, there is just as much commitment as ever, to express that Easter hope and joy through liturgy and music, in word and scripture in every broadcast. For Sunday 3 May, the Assistant Bishop of Perth, Bishop Jeremy James will preach on Jesus, the Good Shepherd, and the service will conclude with a magnificent postlude called Litanies by Jehan Alain (1911–40), played by our organist Dr Joseph Nolan.
Dr Joseph studied Alain’s works under Marie-Claire Alain (Jehan’s sister) in Paris. The exuberance, majesty and power of the piece demands some extraordinary technique from the player. To view click here. Watch the left hand!
We hope you will join us for this special service.
