St George's Art 2017: Winners Announced!

St George's Cathedral is delighted to announce that the winner of the 2012 Paula and David Tunley Award is Christus Natus Est by Perry Joyce.

The piece is a setting of an English translation of the Latin introit text Lux Fulgebit Hodie, with interpolations. It is scored for unaccompanied double choir. Christus Natus Est will receive its premiere on Saturday 22 December at the 7.30pm Carol Service, and will also be performed at the Carol Services on Sunday 23 and Monday 24 December (both also at 7.30pm).

Following the premiere the score will be posted on the St George’s Cathedral website. St George’s Cathedral holds the copyright, and interested parties are welcome to seek permission to perform the piece.
