choristersAs well as singing for choral services, Choristers perform on international tours, broadcasts and recordings, and receive an attractive honorarium.

Last year, the boys travelled to France, where they sang in Amiens Cathedral and St Sulpice Paris to critical acclaim, and later this year they will broadcast live on ABC Radio and TV.

Since international recitalist and choral conductor, Joseph Nolan, became Organist and Master of the Choristers in 2008, choral music at the Cathedral has risen to an extremely high standard.

Joseph is now holding auditions for new Choristers. Boys must be alert, able to read music, possess a clear voice with good high notes, and have a musical ear. Previous musical training is not required, although experience playing an instrument is a distinct advantage.

Enquiries: joseph.nolan@perthcathedral.org, (08) 9325 5766.

Ex-choristers are also invited to get in touch with the Cathedral in time for a special reunion planned for 2010. Please contact Pat Stroud: pastroud@iinet.net.au.
