The Cathedral Choir and Consort have excelled in their offerings of seasonal music in the 2012/13 Christmas period. The Cathedral has also been proud to award the Paula and David Tunley Composition Award 2012 to Perry Joyce for his piece Christus Natus Est. This and a whole host of other Christmas carols were recorded earlier this year by the Cathedral Choir, and the new CD was launched at Evensong on 15 September.

Joseph Nolan and the Cathedral Consort and Choir are to be congratulated for last Friday's performance of Orff's Carmina Burana and Constant Lambert's The Rio Grande.

The winner of the People's Choice Award, a cash prize of $150, is Khmer Grandmother, charcoal, by Jessie Lee from John XXIII College.

Joseph Nolan has been appointed an Honorary Fellow of The University of Western Australia in recognition of outstanding musical achievement here in Perth and internationally.

At the St George’s Art Gala Awards Night on Wednesday 24 July, Stefano Carboni, Director of the Art Gallery of WA, awarded prizes to nine selected artworks.
