The Unit is headed by Mr Anthony Howes, an award winning director and theatre educationist.  He is assisted by an advisory group of leading theatre people, including Ms Jenny Davis, Ms Jenny McNae OAM, Professor Christopher Wortham, Dr Sam Atlas, Mr Stuart Halusz, and Cathedral Precentor, the Reverend Graeme Napier.

Productions in recent years include the Australian premiere of David Hare’s Racing Demon, Dame Mary Durack’s Swan River Saga, David Farr’s Nativity, and commissioned works by Australian playwrights Elizabeth Backhouse and Tony Nicholls.  Classic works, such as Murder in the Cathedral by T S Eliot have also featured.
