SYMPHONY OF SOUND
The inaugural recording of the Cathedral Organ
played by Richard Pinel

Symphony of Sound takes its name from a poem by Porfyrius Optatianus who was court poet to Constantine the Great in the 4th century AD. The poem in question describes a contemporary pipe organ in considerable technical detail and notes that it is capable of expressing a "symphony of sound in rapid and vigorous songs or calm and simple melodies". This humble offering seeks to do just that, exploring British and French repertoire by Kenneth Leighton, William Matthias, Marcel Dupré and Jean Langlais and two newly composed pieces by Robert Walker.
AVAILABLE AT THE CATHEDRAL SHOP ...   $30.00
