Susanna Wesley: Mother of Methodism Susanna Wesley taught her sons (John and Charles) Latin and Greek, preached to conregrations of hundreds when her husband was away, and Biblically and carefully defended her right to do so. John and Charles would re-shape the Christian world. The next generation of Wesleys drove the revival of English choral music. The Reverend Richard Roy, an expert in the history and influence of the Wesley family, preaches. St George’s Cathedral Consort sings music by Samuel Sebastian Wesley. A Service of Thanksgiving for the Dedication and Sacrifice of all who have served with Airborne Forces 1940-2012 This morning’s service, celebrating the dedication and sacrifice of all ranks who have served in British and Commonwealth Airborne Forces will be the fourteenth held in consecutive years. In that time this Cathedral Church of St George has become the Association’s spiritual home with its first standard lodged in the Soldiers Chapel and on its walls there is a plaque recording our unbounded acknowledgement of the outstanding human qualities of such men.

Winterfest 2012sunday 24 june 2012
The flicker of candles and the sounds of sacred music beckon you into St George’s Cathedral, from the cold air of a winter’s night. Sunday 24 June sees Perth’s second Winterfest beginning with a candlelight service sung by the renowned St George’s Cathedral Consort, then spilling unto the Cathedral terrace for a feast of sizzling bratwurst, steaming paella, traditional Romanian winter food, spicy empanadas, and aromatic tagine. Wash it down with hot mulled wine before moving on to roast chestnuts, German gingerbread, brioche, and biscuits, while experiencing fire-performance and live music on the terrace.
