Today, St George’s Cathedral...Winterfest A Winter-Warming Success!
On Sunday 3 July, Perth’s very first Winter Night Market – Winterfest - was held on the Cathedral Terrace.
The evening began in the Cathedral, with a standing-room-only candle-lit Evensong service sung by the Hale St Mary’s Cantate, before the crowds adjourned to the forecourt to find it transformed into a wonderland of fairylight-draped stalls with hot food, crafts, and entertainment. About 1200 people enjoyed the evening, and Winterfest looks set to become an annual tradition at St George’s.
A portion of the profits raised goes to Yipirinya, an indigenous school in the Northern Territory.
