Congratulations to Joseph Nolan and David Elton on their superb performances in last night’s concert.
The audience was treated to a fantastic line-up of music by the duo, including the charming Suite in D by Jeremiah Clarke, Charpentier’s regal Prelude to Te Deum, the effervescent Sonata for Trumpet & Organ by Nagi Hakim, not to mention a breathtakingly beautiful rendition of Bach’s Concerto after Vivaldi. Joseph’s solo performances were also a delight – both the Wagner Prelude from Die Meistersinger and Allegro from Widor’s Sixth Symphony thrilled listeners, as the newly-added Dr Geoffrey Gates AM fanfare trumpet stop was put to excellent use.
