Dean poses fundamental questions

In a series of four after-work discussions on Wednesdays in July, the Dean will pose some fundamental questions: How much do we need to believe to be a Christian? Will sinners have to put up with eternal punishment? What stories in the Bible are true? Can we really believe that Jesus rose from the dead?

Named 'Explorations in Faith', the series was devised by the Dean in response to what he believes is a keen interest in theological topics among the Perth community.

“From the Cathedral’s ‘Heretics Anonymous’ discussion group, and other similar events I have attended, there seems to be a thirst for knowledge and discussion on theological issues,” said Dr Shepherd.

“Many people, of all ages, are interested in religion, and particularly how it is relevant to their own lives.”

Everyone is welcome to attend one or more of the ‘Explorations in Faith’ sessions in the Lower Burt Memorial Hall (38A St Georges Terrace), from 5.15 to 6.15pm. '

An entry charge of $10.00 will be taken at the door. However, places are limited to 30 to enable everyone to have a say.

Dr Shepherd therefore asks for registrations of interest to be sent to St George’s Cathedral Office beforehand: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it - (08) 9325 5766.
