Congratulations to the Cathedral Consort for their performance in the Perth International Arts Festival’s presentation of Haydn’s Creation on Tuesday 22 February.  Joseph Nolan was Concert Master for this performance and deserves our congratulations for bringing the choir to such a high standard.  The Consort performed alongside the world famous orchestra, the Acadamy of Ancient Music conducted by Richard Egarr.

consort1_russellbarton_webThe Consort's performance has received excellent reviews with The Australian stating that “The St George’s Cathedral Consort was in excellent form, singing with crisp articulation, faultless intonation and impeccable unity", Australian Stage saying "The Consort is a sharp, beautifully harmonic group of talented local musicians, and not surprisingly, received the loudest applause at the end of the concert" and the West affirming that "under the expert guidance of its director Joseph Nolan [the Consort] can now truly be called world-class. [They] delivered famous choruses such as The heavens are telling the glory of God with an almost unearthly power and precision."
