Launch of Joseph Nolan's Widor Vol 1 CD

joseph nolan widor vol 1You are invited to the launch of the first volume of the complete Organ Symphonies of Widor, recorded by Joseph Nolan on the great Cavaillé-Coll Organ of l'église de la Madeleine in Paris.

Joseph Nolan plays excerpts from Symphonies V and VI, and speaks about the music and the recording. Drinks and canapés will be served. Advance-release CDs will be available for purchase on the night.

A Festival of Flowers and Sacred Vestments

flowersFor four days in September, St George’s Cathedral will particularly welcome visitors to share a magnificent array of floral arrangements, created by the Cathedral’s Flower Team, to complement exhibits of the Cathedral’s sacred vestments. Never before has it been possible to display these vestments in this way and to share their history with the people of Perth.

PROGRAMME

Thursday 6 September 2012:

Preview from 6.00pm, entry $20, including refreshments

Friday 7 September 2012:

Cathedral open for viewing from 7.00am – 6.00pm, entry by gold coin donation

Workshops during the day in Burt Memorial Hall, led by eminent designers from the Perth fashion scene, entry $20, including refreshments (registration details coming soon)                  

Saturday 8 September 2012:

Cathedral open for viewing from 7.00am – 6.00pm, entry by gold coin donation

A Festival of Flowers and Sacred Vestments

flowersFor four days in September, St George’s Cathedral will particularly welcome visitors to share a magnificent array of floral arrangements, created by the Cathedral’s Flower Team, to complement exhibits of the Cathedral’s sacred vestments. Never before has it been possible to display these vestments in this way and to share their history with the people of Perth.

PROGRAMME

Thursday 6 September 2012:

Preview from 6.00pm, entry $20, including refreshments

Friday 7 September 2012:

Cathedral open for viewing from 7.00am – 6.00pm, entry by gold coin donation

Workshops during the day in Burt Memorial Hall, led by eminent designers from the Perth fashion scene, entry $20, including refreshments (registration details coming soon)                  

Saturday 8 September 2012:

Cathedral open for viewing from 7.00am – 6.00pm, entry by gold coin donation

Workshops during the day in Burt Memorial Hall, led by eminent designers from the Perth fashion scene, entry $20, including refreshments (registration details coming soon)  

Sunday 9 September 2012:

Cathedral open for viewing 12 noon – 5.00pm, entry by gold coin donation

5.00pm Festal Evensong, followed by Champagne on the Parvis

The Cathedral Shop will be open during the Festival, there will be a sales table and group bookings for morning or afternoon tea will be taken after 1 June.
